Aloe Vera is a common natural health remedy. It can be used for sunburn, stomach ailments, and minor scrapes and wounds. It can be found in the form of health food drinks, gels and ointments and also straight from the plant itself. In our pets, aloe vera acts as a laxative and can cause diarrhea and vomiting. In severe cases, it can caue dehydration and electrolyte imbalance from prolonged GI upset. Your veterinarian will be able to guide you on care, depending on the amount your pet has eaten.
