Nov 15, 2017

Learning how to perform CPR for dogs or cats in the case of a pet emergency is one of the most critical components of cat and dog first aid. Being prepared for disaster is also important.  Check out this article for more information.

Proper Method: CPR for dogs (and cats)

[1]
  • Pushing on one-third to one-half of the chest width, perform 100-120 chest compressions per minute with the animal lying on its side.
  • If doing mouth-to-snout breathing, give 2 breaths for every 30 compressions.
  • Perform CPR in 2- minute cycles, switching the person performing the compressions with each cycle.
