Morning Glories get their name because they only bloom in the morning hours. They are a gorgeous plant, and sought after by many plant enthusiasts. The concern with these plants is mostly for dogs because of their potential to eat things. Cats can also be affected but they are not as likely to eat these plants. The chemical found in Morning Glories can cause GI upset, hallucinations and a "drunk appearance". Not only is the concern for the pet, but also because of the staggering and hallucinations, dogs can cause bodily harm not only to themselves but others. Seek veterinary care right away if your pet has eaten Morning Glories.
