Albuterol, which is classified as a bronchodilator, is used to treat or prevent bronchospasms in people with asthma, bronchitis, emphysema, and other lung diseases. While it may be used by the occasional veterinarian in a clinic setting, please don't give this medication to your pet at home without specific instructions, and keep all inhalers and nebulizing solutions out of reach of your pets. These drugs are known to cause high blood pressure, heart arrhythmias, palpatations, and other potentially life-threatening situations.

Arrhythmia, hypertension, fever, vomiting, mydriasis, central nervous system over-stimulation, hypokalemia.
